Last week Facebook announced Yarn, which makes it easier to update dependencies with the npm registry. According to a recent RisingStack survey, 45 percent of Node.js developers update dependencies less than once a month. Whether Yarn will increase dependency updates is an open question, but it can’t hurt. Although the survey did not ask about the package managers being used, it appears that the type of tool being used to push code/containers into production did not have an impact on how often dependencies are updated.
