With the recently announced board additions, 4 of the 19 Linux Foundation board members are female. At 21 percent, that is one percentage point higher than the universe of directors at S&P 500 firms. The representation of many people of Asian descent is due to the geographic diversity of the corporate membership. We know the Linux Foundation cares about diversity. Heck, it supports over 17 organizations’ efforts to promoting diversity in the technology workplace. Increasing diversity among NGO leadership is difficult, just like in the corporate world. For this reason, we encourage each of the 64 projects under the Linux Foundation aegis to take a look in the mirror.
